Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It’s important because it starts your metabolism, gives you the brainpower for beginning your day, gives you the needed energy to fight off Candida.

Morning hasn’t always been kind to me. I normally would drag myself out of bed, jump into the shower, get ready for the day and skip breakfast. That was the old me. The “ME 2.0” is a lot better now.

My beating candida story began with a solid morning routine. Having a proper morning routine is so important if you’re going to get rid of your candida for good. It would be best to create a plan for success, and it all begins in the morning.

My naturopathic doctor-developed for me my morning routine. He was instrumental in giving me a plan, but it was up to me to work that plan each day. It doesn’t matter what plan you have; if it’s not followed, it’s obviously not going to make a difference.

My Morning Vitamins and Supplements

Every morning, I begin taking vitamins that strengthen my body to fight against candida and kill the candida directly. Candida is a relentless foe, and just changing your diet isn’t enough; you’ll also need to take some supplements that are going to help you in this fight.

There are several different supplements that are available, but for the sake of time and length of this article, I am going to focus on the three main ones.

BERBERINE

The best natural supplement that I’ve used is Berberine. Berberine has many great properties, one being that it’s anti-fungal. In 2016, a vitro study showed that berberine effectively killed fluconazole-resistant strains of candida. I’ve had great success using berberine in my battle with candida, and its natural properties are helpful in more ways than just killing candida directly.

VITAMIN B-COMPLEX

Candida is really hard on your body. Candida robs your body of vital nutrients important in fighting off candida and making you healthy and happy. So I find it helpful to give my body a nice boost. A Vitamin B-Complex does this and more.

I find that taking a good Vitamin B-Complex gives me energy each day, and helps with my overall health.

A STRONG PROBIOTIC

I also take a probiotic each morning to help rebuild the good bacteria in my gut.

I normally take the probiotic first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. After that, I have my breakfast and then take my Vitamin B-Complex and Berberine.

There are so many different probiotics on the market today that it’s tough to know which ones actually work. You’ll have to try different brands to see which one works well for you. I find that Raw Probiotics Ultimate Care works well for me. You can find them on Amazon here.

You’ll want to wait a little time before you take the berberine after the probiotic. I am not sure if it affects the good probiotics, but if berberine is strong enough to kill yeast then I would assume it will kill the probiotics you want to plant in your gut.

It’s a good idea to begin the morning with the probiotic on an empty stomach and then have a healthy breakfast and finish off your morning with the berberine and vitamin B-complex. At least, this is what has worked for me.

A Healthy, Candida-Friendly Breakfast

A good breakfast is the foundation for my day.

I try to eat a breakfast that’s balanced and full of candida fighting minerals.

One of my favorite breakfast meals is three hard-boiled eggs with some berries. I also like a cup of black coffee at breakfast time, I know it can be debated whether it’s good or bad, but I’ve been having a coffee at breakfast from the very beginning of my candida diet. It’s worked for me!

I also like having scrambled eggs with some vegetables or a smoothie made with non-dairy milk, berries, nut butter, and coconut oil. Coconut oil is perfect for killing candida and healing the gut.

A delicious breakfast to go is homemade crustless quiche filled with healthy vegetables. I love making my Crustless Dairy-Free Spinach Quiche which gives me lots of energy and tastes great. I actually freeze several in a freezer bag and have them ready for when I’m in a rush and don’t have time to make a good breakfast.

It’s a well-known saying that you’ll either plan for success or fail to plan.

It’s awesome waking up in the morning with a plan ready to go. I’ve been on a candida diet for years now, so it’s somewhat second nature to me. I wake up and follow my routine.
